If in a massive and historic upset, Jake Paul blows out the iconic Mike Tyson, there might be a way out. Tyson’s good friend and UFC CEO Dana White will be seeing clear green dollar signs in “Iron” because now he’s a clear contender for slap fighting! For now, though, they meet in a Netflix-streamed boxing card that takes place this Friday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson went berserk during their final faceoffs!

Representatives of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) did not reveal the initial scale weights they recorded. The ceremonial weigh-ins, however, streamed in Irving at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT). Tyson, 58, weighed in at 228.4 pounds for the fan weigh-in for the heavyweight bout. Paul tipped the scales at 227.2. A gimmicky Paul did an MMA crawl and reached Tyson, who went off with a slap! Hard chin Paul taunted for more and warned him off.

I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf, …Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked the f*ck out. … It’s personal now! He must die!

Paul vs. Tyson, months in the making after a cancellation, will headline the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The card also sees a highly-anticipated rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. Full of showmanship and angling a PFL MMA debut after this, that “El Gallo” would make a crawl isn’t all that new. But Tyson going untethered with a slap is a clear sign of his old self!

The boxing legend recently suffered a cross-country ulcer flare-up and had to go through grinds of lengthy clinical testing. However, he has been firing back at detractors who doubt his shape, or rather his will and ferocity to win. Although back to his old spine-chilling demeanor (or misdemeanor; look out for those ears), the incident inside The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory was a one-off. Tyson still has some deep insight on it, overall.

Ahead of the clash, there have been defining talks and debates about Tyson’s age and regressing health. Some say he still can do it. But let’s not forget how out-of-shape legendary opponent four-time world heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield, got when he was 58. That too against MMA lockout artist Vitor Belfort, not another Tyson.

Paul is often billed as an unabashed fame chaser. So it won’t be a surprise if he instinctively chases a KO. Is it worth anything to Tyson—almost 60—who has proven to be the scariest of all already? 13-year-old reporter (who has 1.3 million followers on IG), Jazyln Guerra (a.k.a. @Jazzysworldtv), asked him what type of legacy he hopes to leave. “Iron” had a deep but grim response to it all:

I don’t believe in the word legacy — I just think it’s another word for ego, …Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. Someone said that word, and everyone grabbed on it, and now it’s used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I’m just passing through. it’s going to be over — who cares about legacy after that?…We’re nothing, we’re dead, we’re dust.

The kid held down the fort like a pro reporter. But Tyson’s brash behavior toward a child reporter was way off the mark than, say, when he met Hasbullah (not a child). Is it really an audacity to think beyond the scope of the fight? Or is Tyson getting into that killer mood? There’s just no telling. But his legacy would certainly take a hit with a devastating loss to Paul. It all comes down to tomorrow night—for better or worse.
