Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini have known each other since the time he was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

- Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini were photographed holding hands and hugging at a hotel in Arizona, sparking controversy.
- Both individuals are married, with Vrabel's marriage dating back to 1999 and Russini's to 2020.
- Vrabel and Russini claim the interaction was innocent and part of a professional relationship, dismissing any implications of impropriety.
Mike Vrabel has been the model of a mature, steadfast individual whose loyalty to the New England Patriots was evident when he pounced upon the opportunity to be their head coach.
The 50-year-old was already revered as a good leader, and many were surprised when the Tennessee Titans let him go, believing they wanted to go in a different direction.
That has not worked out well for them, while the Patriots, in one season under their former linebacker, went from a 4-13 record in 2024 to 14-3.
Even though some believe their run to Super Bowl LX may have been more about luck than sheer ability, what Mike Vrabel has done for them has been nothing short of remarkable.
Heading into this offseason, it was expected that the father of two was going to be busy looking at prospects he can build with next season.
After doing that, and quite impressively with his hands-on approach at Arizona State’s Pro Day, Page Six’s cameras caught the three-time Super Bowl winner being hands-on with something, or rather someone else.
The magazine published pictures of Vrabel holding hands and hugging The Athletic’s lead NFL Insider Dianna Russini at a hotel in Arizona, before spending time alone in a pool.

The only problem with this ‘intimate’ situation is that both the Patriots head coach and the longtime journalist are both married, for quite some time.
Fans can’t wrap their heads around Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini
Mike Vrabel married his wife and college sweetheart, Jennifer, in 1999. On the other hand, Dianna Russini married Kevin Goldschmidt in 2020.
That is where fans felt that the Patriots coach was being too true to the ‘inclusive’ stance he maintained when addressing TreVeyon Henderson‘s comments after the Chicago Bulls released Jaden Ivey. That was immediately after his run-in with The Athletic reporter.
Fans felt this was unbecoming of Vrabel, as he was revered for his loyalty. Check out examples of many such social media reactions below:

You’re shocked after he scolded his own player for his religious views?

Pretty wild story. Both married. Vrabel since 1999

Steven Ginsberg, executive editor of The Athletic, told Page Six that these photos are misleading. Despite that, football fans have been aghast to watch Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini get comfortable without the presence of their spouses.
Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini respond to viral ‘intimate’ photos
As soon as these photos went viral, Page Six contacted both Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini for a comment. The reigning Coach of the Year said this to the publication.

These photos show a completely innocent interaction, and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response.
Vrabel said
Dianna Russini also responded to the photos.
The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.
Russini’s statement
Therefore, this was nothing but a meet-and-greet between two people who have a long history of working with each other. The 43-year-old’s first job on ESPN was as the Tennessee Titans’ beat writer.
That was around the time Vrabel was their head coach. That means this ‘hug’ and ‘holding hands’ was nothing more than two professional friends spending some time with each other.
