It is crystal clear that Arsenal have prioritised the Europa League over the Premier League at the moment with Mikel Arteta making five changes to the team which faced Manchester City.
Arsenal lost 1-0 to Manchester City at home yet again in the Premier League with Raheem Sterling’s goal being the sole one.

With this defeat at home Arsenal have now lost the last eight league meetings against Manchester City and lost four at home without scoring a goal. This is a new low for the club who are in recent times only going down.
But the match was indicative of the fact that Mikel Arteta has made sure that all their efforts are directed towards the Europa League clash in Athens. The match against Benfica is the priority for the club at the moment.


With the tie poised at 1-1 with the first leg played out at Rome, this next game at Athens is of utmost importance. It’s a match which could well shape up the rest of their season.
