Mikel Arteta provides Arsenal shot-stopper David Raya injury update, ahead of crucial EPL encounter against Leicester
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided an update on the team’s first-choice goalkeeper David Raya. after the Spaniard missed the club’s third round Carabao Cup encounter against Bolton. The 29-year-old player faces a race against time to be fit for their next EPL outing against Leicester.
Raya missed the match due to a thigh injury, with 16-year-old Jack Porter making his debut for the club. Mikel Arteta, upon being questioned by reporters, informed that Raya’s injury is a muscular one, but could not confirm its seriousness. Fans will be hoping for the Spanish shot-stopper, who had won the EPL Golden Glove last season, to make his return.
In case he fails to recover in time for their match against the Foxes, the Gunners could opt for new signing Neto to replace the goalkeeper. 35-year-old veteran Neto was signed from Bournemouth on loan this summer, after the club failed to sign Espanyol’s Joan Garcia.
