Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges blames domestic violence scars of Mychelle Johnson as 'acne and failed lip filler' in deleted tweets

When an athlete or celebrity shows their violent side, it often leads to a loss in respect. If that violence happens to be used on a family member, especially someone who the star in question was supposed to be in love and has children with, then that leads to a complete loss of respect.

Now when the said person has done all that, has apologized for it, but now claims that the injuries were made through makeup, it is bound to make matters worse. Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has internet burning.

YouTube video

The 26-year-old was enjoying the summer league games in Las Vegas. He posted a photograph of himself seated alongside his Charlotte Hornets teammates on his official X account. To this, when an X user replied to the post calling him an abuser, he replied:

FS Video
Never abused anybody.

To this, another user put up a picture of Mychelle Johnson, the mother of his children who he allegedly abused, and asked who did that to her. To that, he replied:

Acne and failed lip filler.

This caused an uproar in the trail of messages. Hundreds of messages called Miles Bridges out for apparently making it look like he was framed.

With all the negative comments coming in and many tagging the NBA as well as the Charlotte Hornets in the message trail, he was forced to delete the tweet. It seems he understood that he probably took it too far, risking his career in the league.

This comes as a surprise from Bridges who apologized for harming Mychelle Johnson, his then-girlfriend. He was also informally suspended by the team when investigations against him were ongoing. Now, it remains to be seen if the league or the Hornets will do anything about this.

Miles Bridges is already in a risky situation with his NBA career

The 5-year veteran so far has lost nearly a year’s worth of playing time. His investigations forced the team to keep him away from the limelight. Then the league investigated its own, ultimately suspending him for a further 10 games. All of this stems from the domestic violence incident which took place in 2022.

This year, however, he re-signed with the Charlotte Hornets on a 3-year contract worth $75 million. He was awarded the contract after the domestic assault charges against him were dropped due to inconsistent reports. However, he still has an outstanding warrant and is yet to face charges against that.

The forward already knows that he is constantly scrutinized. Add to that if he makes a statement in any way that is outside the purview of the court or the case he was facing, it could jeopardize his career. The Hornets and the NBA might not be willing to latch onto someone who keeps on attracting trouble.
