Jayson Tatum had been in the spotlight this offseason. Most of it had to do with his time with Team USA at the Paris Olympics. Mindy Kaling, though, was not new to the sport. She had often been spotted at NBA games in Boston, mostly with her co-star BJ Novak from the popular series The Office.
As a final word of her speech, Mindy Kaling also sent an encouraging message to Ben Affleck amidst rumors of his divorce from Jenifer Lopez. She went ahead and vouched for Dunkin Donuts coffee being the best in the world. All in all, Jayson Tatum has plenty of support heading into the next season.
Jayson Tatum’s $300 million deal remains untouched
Jayson Tatum is the newest member of the $300 million club. The Boston Celtics star got himself a $314 million extension for five years. This contract became the highest offer in the NBA ever, surpassing the one signed last offseason by teammate Jaylen Brown. However, Tatum recently explained how that money remained locked up.
The Celtics star shared that he and his mom, Brandy Cole, agreed on something. It is that he would never spend his money playing for the Celtics. The decision got the approval of his accountant, and they all agreed that he should spend the money he made via endorsements. Tatum further revealed that they did not know he would make the amount of money he did off-court.
As per reports by Forbes, his endorsements have brought in $13 million. Tatum’s sponsors and endorsements include Jordan Brand, Gatorade, Subway, NBA 2K, and Ruffles. Cole shared how, previously, they did not have an extra $100 a month to put into savings. She further reflected on their difficult journey and the decision will surely benefit the family.
