They are naturally generated in the Nether realm and come in clusters of 1-3 per chunk. However, in rare conditions, players can find 5 Ancient Debris in one cluster. They appear underground and never exposed to the air. The depth of -15 is the optimal depth to find this block. Players need to use a Diamond or a Netherite Pickaxe in order to break and obtain the block. If it is mined with anything else, it drops nothing.

- Players can put the mined Ancient Debris block in a Furnace or a Blast Furnace to get Netherite Scraps. These scraps are used alongside gold, to make the hardest crafting material in the game, the Netherite Ingot.
- Netherite weapons, tools and armor give a huge boost to the players and are therefore quite handy to have in the late game.
