Food items are quite commonly found in the game. While some are more easily found than others, players can definitely find them if they look hard enough. One of the lesser found food items is the Beetroot and it is used as a intermediary to create tasty dishes for the players to consume.

The Minecraft Beetroot is a uncommonly found food item that can be used in crafting food items and can also be used as a dye.

How to get it?
Beetroot can be found growing in some Village farmlands, alongside other crops like Carrots or melons. Players can harvest them from here by hand or with any tool and it will drop 1 Beetroot and some seeds.
Alternatively, players can also grow the Beetroot by first finding Beetroot seeds in some chests scattered across the Overworld and then planting it in their farmland.
Uses for Beetroot
- Beetroot can be eaten by the player to restore 1 hunger point and give the players 1.2 hunger saturation.
- It can also be turned into a Beetroot soup using 6 Beetroot and an Empty Bowl and putting it in the crafting table.
- Beetroot is used to craft Red Dye in the Crafting Table.
- Beetroot are also one of the only 3 foods in the game that allows the players to breed pigs. They are also used in breeding Villagers, in which case it needs 12 total beetroots.
- They can be used to trade with Farmer Villagers and get Emeralds in return.
- Lastly, composting them will have a 65% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
