There are a lot of things that the players can find while exploring the wilderness of the world of Minecraft. Players may stumble upon Minecraft Fossils from time to time and wonder what exactly are they? We answer all the questions about this strange structure.

Minecraft has a lot of biomes that has a variety of weather, landscapes and even monsters and plants. However, there are a few structures that only appear very rarely and only in some respective biomes. These can be quite hard to find, but not necessarily rewarding for all.

In this article we take a look at the Minecraft Fossils which are are very rare and mysterious.

The Minecraft Fossils is a rarely generated structure that consists of a huge skeleton or bones like structure of a huge animal.

They are completely white in most cases and appear underground, over ground or partially buried. They may resemble a ribcage or a skull type of structure when spawning which has its varieties.

Generation and Locations

These are extremely rare and players can miss them because of their very un-impressive structure or appearance. But it can easily be identified if players find Bone Blocks somewhere, because this is the only naturally source of Bone Blocks in the game.

These are mainly found in the desert and swamp related biomes in the Overworld and can spawn underground, over ground or partial buried under rubble.

Fossils are mainly made up of Bone blocks and can come in two broad categories those being Skulls and Spines. The Skulls have 4 variants of the bone and 4 of the petrified version, while the Spin similarly has 4 Bone variants and 4 petrified variants.

Some of the Petrified versions can also contain coal ores and diamond ore blocks instead of Bone Blocks.

The variants can differ in their appearance by a lot and also contain a different number of Bone blocks.

The Minecraft Fossils have no real purpose in the game other than being a cool discovery made by the players. As they are very rare, players might be excited to find one the first time. However, other than obtaining Bone blocks and Bones, which there is already an abundance of by killing skeletons, the Fossils have no real value in the game.
