Minnesota Timberwolves’ Malik Beasley pleads guilty of felony charges

Malik Beasley, shooting guard of Minnesota Timberwolves has pleaded guilty of felony charges of violence to an incident which goes back to November. Beasley would not have to serve jail time or home confinement until after the 2020-21 season. His attorney, Steven Haney confirmed to ESPN. Beasley was however, arrested for the same in September. His sentence should not exceed 120 days, if Beasley completes probation according to his attorney, Haney.
Beasley was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves from Denver Nuggets in February. His average in the last season was more than 20 points in 14 game in the last season. In November itself, Beasley signed an extension for 4 years’ worth $ 60 Million with the Timberwolves.

Beasley was facing felony-controlled substance/narcotics and felony receiving/concealing stolen property charges according to Hennepin County Jail records.
In a statement to ESPN at the time, Plymouth Police Department said officers were called to Beasley’s residence on a reported weapons offense. The reporting individuals told officers they had stopped their car in front of the house and a “suspect walked up to their vehicle, tapped on the vehicle window, pointed a gun at them and advised them to get off of the property.”
“As the victims drove away, the suspect was observed holding the gun up to his shoulder, pointing it at their vehicle,” the police statement said.
The 2020-21 regular season is all set to start from tomorrow, where the Minnesota Timberwolves would be playing the Detroit Pistons in their first encounter on December 25. Talking about Beasley, he was more than handful for the franchise in his last pre-season encounter scoring 18 points in 24 minutes helping the Timberwolves beat the Dallas Mavericks 129-127.
