Shane Young excited to be back in the octagon
Shane Young is completely focused on his bout against Ľudovít Klein at UFC 253.
But concentration has been hard to come by for the UFC featherweight over the past year. The physical and mental strains of professional MMA have helped Young get used to hardship. After losing someone close Young had been miserable for a while.
Although Young was devastated, he reframed his thinking and used the personal heartache as motivation. One of those positives: giving him the strength to push through the hardest training sessions in his life. Young showed respect and appreciated his opponent Klein.
Lastly Young said, “Myself, Israel (Adesanya), Brad (Riddell), and Kai (Kara-France) are the culmination of decades of hard work from other men and women before us.”
He concluded by saying, “I don’t see how Klein can fight that. He’s not just fighting me; he’s fighting all those other people who will be there in spirit with me.”
