Mirra Andreeva made a cheeky statement while congratulating fellow Russian Daria Kasatkina after their clash in the Ningbo Open final.

Mirra Andreeva failed to clinch her second WTA title after losing to her fellow Russian Daria Kasatkina in three sets at the Ningbo Open. The 17-year-old was in tears after the defeat on Sunday (October 20), but after a day’s rest, she shared a social media post to sum up the WTA 500 final.
Andreeva has been the most consistent teenager this year in women’s tennis. The Russian reached the semifinals of the French Open in June before claiming doubles silver at the Paris Olympics the following month. She earned a place in the final of the Ningbo Open after Karolina Muchova was forced to retire in the second set.
Andreeva failed to earn any points in the opening set against Kasatkina in the final. However, she bounced back in the second set to force the match into a decider. The teenager made most of the momentum and took a 3-0 lead. However, a few faults led Kasatkina back into the match, who went on to win 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.
After the loss, Andreeva was in tears and was quickly comforted by her friend Kasatkina during her on-court interview. She later took to social to congratulate her compatriot with some spicy remarks.

Meanwhile, Andreeva earned her career-high ranking of World No.17 after finishing runners-up at the Ningbo Open. The 17-year-old began the year as World No.58 but has progressed and performed beyond expectations this year.
Mirra Andreeva’s tears remind Daria Kasatkina of her two final losses this season
Daria Kasatkina admitted that Mirra Andreeva crying after losing the Ningbo title reminded her of her two final losses this season. The World No. 9 lost to Elena Rybakina in the title match at the Abu Dhabi Open in February.
Kasatkina then lost to American Danielle Collins in straight sets at the Charleston Open final in March. The 27-year-old later claim her first title of the season at the Eastbourne International in June, beating Leylah Fernandez.
After clinching the Ningbo Open title, Kasatkina had a few kind words for her opponent. She said that Andreeva would win several finals in the future..
Kasatkina climbed from World No. 11 to No. 9 after winning the Ningbo Open. She will be back on the court on Wednesday (October 23) for her opening match at the Japan Open.
