She continued with her excellent performance in Indian Wells and defeated Rybakina and Swiatek en route to the final. Against Aryna Sabalenka in the final, she showed maturity and composure, coming from behind to beat the World No.1. The victory saw her climb into the Top 10 of the WTA rankings.
Andreeva’s undeniable talent has seen her receive praise from NBA star LeBron James and several tennis legends. The Russian revealed that she has found balance on and off the court.
When I play a tournament match, I try to go out on the court and enjoy every moment, have fun, but at the same I take it seriously. Lately, I’ve found this balance: not getting depressed or too nervous on the court, but at the same time taking it easy and letting go. It’s helped me a lot in the last two months.

Conchita Martinez says Mirra Andreeva’s progress has skyrocketed
Mirra Andreeva has been coached by Conchita Martinez since April last year and the pair have found great success together. Martinez, who won the WTA Coach of the Year Award in 2021 mentored Garbine Mugurza before the Spaniard retired. She used her experience to take Andreeva’s game to a higher level. She revealed in an interview on Tennis Channel that the progress of Andreeva has been far from slow.

I think the progress, especially in the last couple of months, you know she just went up. Winning Dubai and winning Indian Wells, that was a little bit… I don’t know, I don’t want to say she couldn’t do it, but it was a progress and all of a sudden it just went like a sky rocket. So yeah, it’s a little bit of a surprise in a way, but the way she’s been improving. Also, after a good pre-season where you get a little bit more time to work on the things that you want to work.
