With three major titles already in his trophy cabinet, Alcaraz still has to work harder if he wants to be at the level of the Big 3, believes Mischa.

The tennis fraternity has started comparing Carlos Alcaraz to the Big 3 because of his achievements in Grand Slam events. Alcaraz recently broke the record of winning major titles on three different surfaces. Amidst showers of praise, Mischa Zverev said the Spaniard has a long way to go.

Mischa’s brother Alexander Zverev’s search for his maiden Grand Slam title was put to an end by Alcaraz when he defeated the German in the Roland Garros final in five sets. With three major titles already in his trophy cabinet, Alcaraz still has to work harder if he wants to be at the level of the Big 3, believes Mischa.

Alcaraz may be young, but he is an intelligent player. He has a lot of options to win the point, and he showed today that he can choose the right one at the right time. I don't like talking about the future because it doesn't make any sense. That said, having three titles at 21 years old can already be called a legend. But there is still a long way to go to compare him to Roger, Rafa, and Djoko.
Mischa Zverev told L’Équipe

Among the Big 3, Novak Djokovic tops the list with 24 major titles, while Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have 20 and 22 respectively.

Carlos Alcaraz explained how he defeated Alexander Zverev in Roland Garros final

Carlos Alcaraz played back-to-back two five-set matches before his Roland Garros triumph. Against Alexander Zverev in the final, Alcaraz found himself in a precarious situation when the German won two back-to-back games.

Even though the scores tell otherwise, Zverev put a lot of pressure on the Spaniard in the last two sets. Alcaraz had to display everything he had learned to beat Zverev. After the match, Alcaraz admitted how he changed his mindset later in the last two sets because it was a Grand Slam event.

I didn’t play my best tennis in the third set, but we were in the final of a Grand Slam, so it was time to give everything.
Carlos Alcaraz told Eurosport

The 21-year-old Spaniard will be aiming for his second Wimbledon title next month. He won his first title at the SW19 last year by beating Novak Djokovic in five sets. Alcaraz won his first major trophy in the 2022 US Open.
