Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has been in the headlines in the Australian media as well as the Indian media for his recent antics in the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 at the Adelaide Oval. He has always been a fiery character and drew the ire for giving a send-off to Travis Head after he dismissed the batter on 140. Siraj earned a demerit point and was fined 20% of his match fees.

The incident between Head and Siraj attracted a lot of attention. The Australian batter said at the press conference that he appreciated Siraj for the delivery that got him out, but Siraj reacted in a bad way. to which he was not happy. Siraj, however, refuted the claim, saying that neither Head appreciated him, nor did Siraj react in a bad way to the Australian.

The Adelaide crowd was booing Siraj after the incident with Head, and he has also received a lot of criticism back in India. Johnson feels that it will be interesting to see how the Indian pacer responds to the extra attention that he is receiving.
Moreover, he feels that Siraj sometimes crosses the boundary line and feeds off the aggression.
The third Test match starts on December 14 at the Gabba in Brisbane. India breached the fortress in BGT 2020-21. Up until then, the Aussies hadn’t lost any Test match in the venue since 1988. After India, West Indies also beat Australia in a Pink ball Test in Brisbane.
