Mitchell Marsh has been a reckoning force in the Australian cricket team but there is another side to him that his admirers absolutely adore. He is a total fan favourite and the reason for the same is because he never leaves any stone unturned to make a fan happy.
In a video posted by an account probably impersonating Richard Kettleborough, one of the most renowned ICC umpires on his X, a video surfaced where Mitchell Marsh was handing over his Player of the Match trophy to a fan. The smile on fan’s face was an absolute treat for cricket lovers.
This is not the first time though that Marsh has actually done something off the ground to make a fan or an admirer happy. In Australia’s Test series against Pakistan at the end of 2023, after the Aussies triumphed over the latter in Perth by a staggering 360 runs, Marsh who was adjudged the Player of the Match for his scores of 90 and 63* gave away his medal to a very young fan in the stands.
Before the T20 World Cup 2024 started, he also visited the Ugandan team and donned their threads to celebrate the cricket spirit in the nation who had braved almost insurmountable adversities to be here at the biggest stage of all. All these deeds by Mitchell Marsh simply prove that he is a gem of a human, apart from being one of the finest all-rounders in the world.
Mitchell Marsh has been under the scanner and here’s why
Despite all the love and affection, Marsh has been under fire of late. Australia will be taking on Scotland in their final group-stage fixture tomorrow.
But, a controversial statement made by Josh Hazlewood that had hints of the Aussies going light on Scotland to knock England out has brought their skipper under fire.
Marsh’s contribution to the Australian cause in the T20 World Cup has seen him rack up moderate scores of 14 against Oman, 35 against England and an unbeaten 18 against Namibia. He would be hoping for another positive outing when Australia meets Scotland in their final group-stage fixture.
