MJF has been involved in a feud with Will Ospreay for the past couple of weeks. Although many fans expected to see them blow it off at All In, AEW surprised everyone by putting this match on a special episode of Dynamite. On the 250th episode of their weekly episodic TV show, Friedman took on the Aerial Assassin for the AEW International Championship.
The match ended with The Salt of The Earth coming out on top after clashing with Will Ospreay for an hour. He was crowned the new AEW International Champion and had some words to say on X. He said that the 31-year-old’s title reign had been caught and compromised to a permanent end.
This line is a direct reference to John Cena at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View in 2011. On May 2nd, 2011, the US government tracked down and killed Osama Bin Laden. This was on the same day as the show. Thus, WWE sent out the former WWE Champion to break this news in front of the live crowd, who used these exact same words.

In his tweet, The Wolf of AEW asserted that America finally had a real champion. He also claimed that it was an easy W for him despite needing medical attention after the match. Friedman is known to be a huge troll on social media, and things have amped up since his recent heel turn. He even trolled the Englishman when his country lost the EURO 2024 finals.
MJF requires medical attention after an hour-long match against Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship
MJF and Will Ospreay kicked off the 250th episode of Dynamite with their match for the AEW International Championship. While everyone expected this to be a classic, no one expected it to go for as long as it did. The two superstars tried everything in their arsenal to put the other one away. However, it was of no good use.
The one-minute alarm hit, and Ospreay knew that he only had a mere 60 seconds to put his opponent away. He hooked him up for a Tiger Driver ’91 but set him back down, refusing to use the move. This slight hesitation was all the window MJF needed to capitalize.
The longest-reigning AEW Champion shoved his opponent into referee Bryce Remsburg. He sneakily wore his AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring and landed a loaded punch on his opponent. Friedman won the match and was crowned the new International Champion. After the match, medical professionals rushed to the ring to put ice on Ospreay’s shoulder and give oxygen to the 28-year-old.
