“He’s a f**king mark,” AEW Champion shoots on Shane McMahon over leaked photo of his private meeting with Tony Khan

MJF always keeps up with what's going on in his periphery. This time around, he gave both Shane McMahon and Tony Khan a piece of his mind.

Although it took a while, that contentious photo drop of Tony Khan‘s private meeting with Shane McMahon is starting to have its dominoes. Reigning AEW American Champion MJF has proffered his two cents on the situation. Speaking to Cultaholic Wrestling, Max called Shane a mark. Oozing detestation, the former claimed he doesn’t respect neither Tony nor McMahon.

However, he does respect the fact that he’s the highest-paid athlete in AEW, added Maxwell. Apart from that, nothing really bothers the 28-year-old. Further, he was asked if he’d like to get in the ring with Shane McMahon. The Devil affirmed that it’d be detrimental to Shane-O-Mac’s mental health if they were to verbally joust with each other. And it wouldn’t be any different inside the squared circle as well.

One of Shane’s former WWE colleagues, Bryan Danielson, was also hit with the same question recently. Quashing rumors of beef, if any, The American Dragon didn’t oppose the idea of working with the 59-year-old if he does join AEW. McMahon has already commented on his tete-a-tete with Khan. The former WWE executive revealed that he was connected to Tony Khan via a mutual friend.

He’s a f**king mark. I mean, yeah, that was my reaction. I don’t respect either of them. I respect the fact that I am the highest-paid athlete in my company.

Their meeting didn’t have a moot point and instead stressed their love for the business. At the end, McMahon congratulated the Jacksonville Jaguars higher-up on the five-year anniversary of AEW. Is there any chance of Shane’s comeback to WWE? The stars could align only if there’s a mutual interest.

As a matter of fact, Vince McMahon‘s son did make overtures to go back to the Stamford-based promotion. However, the company’s brass doesn’t seem too keen on having him back. So for now, that window is closed.

In hindsight, Shane McMahon catching up with Tony Khan didn’t come out of the blue. At first, it was The Crown Prince of WWE himself who reached out to several AEW talents to explore his options about joining the company. Then, McMahon bumped into Mercedes Mone by chance at the LaGuardia airport.

They chatted for a while before proceeding to board their respective flights. It was after the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. Fans suspect it might’ve been the turning point that resulted in Shane’s inclination towards AEW. Later on, Mone also confirmed that she met him.

And once the photo of Shane’s meet with Tony was out, Mercedes conspicuously teased that she was the one who clicked them. It would be interesting to see if any of that pays off in the long term. There’s no concrete update on whether McMahon would actually end up signing with AEW or not.
