“F**king play better. Plain and Simple”: Aaron Boone issues an authoritarian message towards his Yankees side, lost last 13/16

Aaron Boone is really frustrated with the kind of performance put up by the New York Yankees over the course of their last 16 games, they have disappointed their manager in 13 games out of the 16. Aaron Boone made clear that he wasn’t focused on the number of games that the Yankees were ahead in the AL East.
Aaron Boone’s Yankees were shut out in a 4-0 defeat to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night. They have now gone 12-24 over their last 36, and their lead for first in the American League East is down to eight games. Their manager only wants them to act the leaders they are and perform in the field.
After boasting an advantage of 15.5 games on July 8, New York’s hold on the division is now just eight games. “We should be ticked off right now and we need to start playing better. Plain and simple,” Boone said after the Yankees’ fifth loss in their last six games, and the team’s eighth in their last 10 outings.
“You pour a lot into trying to shake hands at the end of the day, and we’ve been able to do that on balance on a really high clip this year. We’ve hit a rough patch and we’ve got to dig ourselves out,” Aaron Boone continued.
Aaron Boone lets his emotions have a word with the reporters postgame
“We can sit here, and I can keep answering questions and talk about it … but we’ve got to go do it. And the good news is we’ve got all the pieces in that room to do that. I know that’s coming. I know it’s going to happen, but it really sucks going through it.”
The Yankees have lost 13 games over a 16-game span of a single season for just the third time in the Wild Card Era, “One of the things we preach is having that consistency and being able to handle the good and the bad, but you should be a little pissed off right now,”
Aaron Boone added. “We’re a really good team. It’s been long enough now to where it’s been an extended period of struggle. We have to do better.”
