“Celebrates with HR” – Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt take home May’s Players of the Month

Chevrolet presented May’s player of the month award and other than the two of the most elite stars of MLB, Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt. On Friday, the America League and the National League named their players of the month for May 2022. Yankee batter Aaron Judge was entitled with American League’s Player of the Month and Cardinal’s first baseman Goldschmidt was entitled with National League’s Player of the Month.

Aaron Judge plays as the right fielder for the New York Yankees and has won the AL Rookie of the year in 2017 and was voted second in the race for AL’s Most Valuable Player.

The 34 years old Paul Goldschmidt plays the first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball and has been an All-Star 6 times between 2013-2018

Judge smashed the ball neatly in May, scoring 12 of his 19 home runs in May, leading the Major Leagues with his spectacular slugging this season. He batted .311 with a 1.077 OPS (On-base Plus Slugging) being the second best in AL, with his 25 RBIs (Run Batted In) also ranked second in the AL. Before Judge, DJ Mahieu was the most recent Yankee’s player of the month award winner in June 2019.

Yankees hold the first place in the American League East and have recorded 36-15, the best record in baseball.

Goldschmidt brings in Cardinal’s second straight Player of the month award for the 2022 season. Cardinals also bagged an award in 2021, making Goldschmidt’s award third straight going back to last year. Nolan Arenado won the award in April and Tyler O’Neill won it in September 2021.

Goldschmidt batted .404 in May leading the National League, his 1.288 OPS (On-base Plus Slugging) was the best in the Majors. He smashed 10 home runs in the month of May, only second to Los Angeles Dodger’s Mookie Betts. His 33 RBIs were the most in MLB.

Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt are both three times Player of the Month award winner. Judge bagged his other two awards in AL in June 2017 and September 2017, whereas Goldschmidt bagged him in the NL in June 2018 and July 2019.
