“They’re like his Vitamins”: Aaron Judge blustering HR No. 53, provides certainty for the racking Yankees

Aaron Judge
Aaron Judge has been chasing the All-time New York Yankee record of scoring more that 61 home runs in a single season, the current record is held by Roger Mantis. He also set a personal best of 53 homers, surpassing the 52 he achieved in 2017 when he was on the move to being crowned AL Rookie of the Year.
Aaron Judge did indeed set the tone for the New York Yankees in Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays. It proved to be enough, as Frankie Montas hurled five one-hit innings before Clay Holmes sealed a 2-1 Yankees win with a 101.7 mph sinker, the hardest pitch he has ever thrown in a Major League game.
“My job at the top of the line-up is just trying to get on base for the guys behind me,” Aaron Judge said. “That’s all I’m trying to do there in the first inning, especially with a guy like Armstrong, who’s got a good little sinker-cutter combo. “
“I tried to put something in play and was lucky to get something over the plate.” The achievement would certainly help Aaron Judge’s AL MVP case and his bid for a new contract. The four-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger is set to be a free agent after the 2022 season.
Aaron Judge only 9 home runs short of the All-Time Yankee record

Since Aug. 1, the Bombers are 25th in the major leagues in runs. Their slugging percentage during that span is .353, which is 27th overall. Another way of looking at it: Kyle Higashioka’s slugging percentage is .349. The Yankees have effectively become a collection of light-hitting backup catchers.
“My pacemaker was kicking into overdrive,” Aaron Boone said. “It’s way more nerve-wracking to watch this way. … This does feel bigger (than a normal win). To get a big win, a tough one on the road against a team that we’re fighting with … it’s huge this time of year.”
“I think sometimes we get a little caught up in chasing results,” Aaron Judge added. “You’ve got to get caught up in the process of preparing the right way and sticking to a good approach, and I saw that up and down the line.”
