Aaron Judge is on his way to registering one of the best ever individual seasons ever witnessed by a Yankee’s right-fielder. Safe to say, it looks like ‘slugger’ seems to be an understatement to determine Judge’s performance in the field of New York Yankees. With the pressure increasing game after game, this hulking outfielder seems to be fetching the limelight as swiftly as possible.

Recently as the Yankees locked horns against the Tigers, Aaron Judge continued to distinguish himself from the rest of MLB as he knocked his 21st home run of the season. Not only that in the entire 2022 season so far, but Judge has also been obliterating baseball and playing elite defence as well. The same can be spotted with his .659 slugging percentage. Moreover, this has led to Aaron Judge being placed alongside greats like – Roger Maris and Babe Ruth.

As staggering as it seemed, Judge blasted upon a 95.3mph fastball from Beau Brieske, driving a 378-foot blast on the right-centre field. “It’s an honour, any time you’ve got Yankees legends like that, getting a chance to be mentioned in the same sentence or category,” Judge said. “But I’m not trying to be Maris. I’m not trying to be Ruth. I’m just trying to be the best Aaron Judge I can be.”

To those who are not aware, a white-coloured corridor under the Yankees’ right field showcases every retired player’s number. From where Aaron Judge passes before each game, acknowledging and admiring the franchise’s greats of yesteryear.

Moreover, to elaborate upon Judge’s breath-taking form in the 2022 season, he has become just the fourth Yankee to belt at least 21 homers through the club’s first 53 games of a season, in this process he has joined the likes of Ruth who did it in 6 respective seasons, Mickey Mantle, who accomplished the same in 1956 and lastly Luke Voit, who registered the same in 2020 season. Furthermore, Judge is also ahead of the 1961 pace of Maris and Mantle.

When the same was inquired from Boone, he stated, “With him [Aaron Judge], anything’s possible. That is obviously an enormous number to get to. We’ve got a long way to go there, but I won’t put a cap on anything he could do.”

Aaron Boone concluded by emphasizing the importance of Judge on the current Yankees’ side, “The experience that he’s gained throughout his career, he’s able to learn from, grow from and apply. When you couple that with tremendous talent and the makeup of who he is, he’s about the team. He’s about winning. I knew nothing could get in the way of that.”
