After being in the spotlight for his actions in Game 5, Texas Rangers‘ outfielder Adolis Garcia this time stole the show. He connected for a crushing grand slam deep in the game to extend his side’s lead in Game 6 of the ALCS against the Houston Astros.
This series between the two Texan rivals has lived up to its expectations. These two teams first battled it out during the regular season where the Astros came out on top. In this ALCS matchup, both sides have exchanged heavy blows and have now forced a Game 7.
Garcia smashed a three-run shot in Game 5 and then celebrated wildly. He was later hit by a pitch from Bryan Abreu which sparked a fierce fight between the two dugouts. The 30-year-old who was ejected from that game, this time did one better and launched a massive grand slam.
With the Rangers leading 5-2 in the ninth, the bases were loaded. Relief pitcher Ryne Stanek was unable to get out of the jam as the Cuban hitter connected a fastball. His 375-foot home run silenced the home crowd as his team rolled out to win the game 9-2.

Astros-Rangers set to settle ALCS with Game 7 showdown in Houston
The words “Game 7” could be either entertaining or scary depending on which team a person supports. The LCS and the World Series in MLB follow the best-of-seven series format to decide the winner.
After a roller-coaster of a series so far between the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers, it has all come down to Game 7. So far the home sides in this series are yet to win a game on their turf.
The Rangers won the first two games in Houston before the Astros took all three games in Arlington. With the win of the Rangers in Game 6, this streak has continued. Should they win Game 7, it will see a repeat of what happened during the 2019 World Series between the Washington Nationals and the Astros where the home side could not win a game in their backyard.
This will also be the first Game 7 in MLB since 2020. It will feature a Game 3 rematch between Cristian Javier and Max Scherzer. Javier came out on top last time out with his dominating performance and Scherzer will definitely be under pressure.
Can “Mad Max” bring out another vintage performance for him? Can Adolis Garcia be stopped at this moment? The answers to this and all of the other questions will be answered in due time.
