Sunday afternoon marked a memorable day for the Dominican-American player Albert Pujols as the St. Louis Cardinals legend and future Hall of Famer becomes the 10th MLB baseball professional to enter the list of players having played 3000 career games. With just a few games behind Willie Mays (3005) and Cal Ripken Jr. (3001).

He replaced the injured outfielder McKenzie Corey Dickerson in the Cardinal’s 6-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs, to become the 10th player in the history of MLB to come into sight for 3000 major league career games.

José Alberto Pujols Alcántara, The Dominican-American first baseman and designated hitter for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball could ascend to as high as fourth in the table for most career games in the history of MLB by the end of 2022 season. The Cardinals have 109 games remaining in the season.

The broadcasters stated, “He debuted April 2nd of 2001 and playing in his 3000th game here today. I’m not going to lie, I’m glad he is in the game.”

Although Cubs did not let the veteran shine in his 3000th game, Albert Pujols went 0 of 3 with three groundouts and a walk.

Albert Pujols, also known as ‘La Maquina’ was welcomed by the cardinals as a veteran mentor and a platoon bat. He has appeared in in 29 out of the team’s 53 games starting the season with a record of 30-23. Pujols did not start Saturday afternoon’s game, but he was available on the bench. He entered in the second inning after Dickerson was injured with a calf injury. Pujols, 42, took a .210/.327/.383 batting line into Saturday’s game, then went 0 for 3 with a walk.
