Blue Jays have now won five back-to-back shoutouts for the first time since last July, Alek Manoah has been the influential part of most of those games. The star freshman took his seventh win of the season. His less than 20 games career records 16-3.
With such style and gameplay, Alek Manoah is earning his way up to the American League’s Cy Young award conversation. A 7-1 record and 1.81 ERA. Although Kevin Gausman leads the American League pitchers with 2.78 WAR, Manoah does seem to falter when he is in his natural flow and can rise above on the list if others have a few bad days.

“When guys get on base, I just get angry,” Alek Manoah expressed. “I find a way to control that competitiveness and that fire, and I feel like I’m at my best when I can do that. Just being able to go out there and eat a ton of innings is what I kind of what I build everything around.”
Even Kansas City Royal’s star outfielder Kyle Isbel was also impressed but the freshman, he said, “Alek Manoah is one of the best in the league right now, he had a lot working for him tonight. Didn’t really miss over the plate much. Two-seam was running good, got a lot of lefties front hip. Sliders kept people off-balance. He was running the heater to all quadrants of the zone. He was tough. That’s a good pitcher.”
Many of the players have come to the conclusion that it is Alek Manoah’s fiery mindset that makes his achievements great, somewhere at the back of his mind always knows the balance between feistiness and composure to be successful player.

I’m continuing to do a lot of meditation and stuff like that to control my mindset, control my thoughts and control my heart rate. When I’m ultra-competitive and can still control it, that’s when I’m at my best.”
