The 2023 MLB postseason is now starting to take real shape. The 9-1 victory of the Houston Astros over the Minnesota Twins in Game 3 has put them in contention for a seventh consecutive ALCS appearance. Alex Bregman would later join the Fox Analyst crew to discuss the match and his performances.
The Fox crew consisting of Kevin Burkhardt, and former MLB greats – Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, and Derek Jeter would ask questions regarding his performance and how much this helps the other players. Jeter making his first postseason appearance as an analyst would later ask him how were Bregman and his teammates so calm under the pressure.
With the series level at 1-1, the pressure was certainly there on the teams. The Astros though seemed to be in a relaxed mood which promoted Jeter asking this question. Bregman claimed how he and his teammates grew up watching them in the postseason and how much it meant for them to turn up at the ballpark.
“Well uh, I think I think yeah everyone shows up to the ballpark relaxed and focused and you know all of us grew up watching y’all play in the postseason so we are having fun,” Bregman said. He further added how they are living out their dream. “Every day we show up to the ballpark we are super happy to put on the uniform and go out there and compete. I think this group does a real good job of staying relaxed, staying focused, and knowing it comes to execution,” the Astros man said.
Alex Bregman shines in Game 3 rout of Minnesota Twins
The American League Division Series between the Houston Astros and the Minnesota Twins is turning into a spicy one. This is so far the first series that will need a Game 4 and probably Game 5 to decide it. After suffering a defeat in Game 2, the Astros bounced back emphatically as they crushed the Twins 9-1. Alex Bregman along with Jose Abreu would shine in this match as they both launched home runs.
Bregman, 29, has enjoyed plenty of success with the Astros in his career. The third baseman who is struggling this postseason launched a solo shot in the fifth. This extended his side’s lead to 5-0 after Abreu had slammed a three-run bomb earlier in the game. Bregman would later hit an RBI single to put his side in cruise control of the game.
The Twins will now take to the field on Wednesday night hoping to force a Game 5. It is certain that they cannot let any margin of error now. A win in this match will see both sides travel to Houston to settle the series. The host would be hoping to avoid joining the Baltimore Orioles in the eliminated team list after their good performances this year.
