WATCH: Alex Rodriguez keeps denying all charges of doping despite every clue pointing towards him
Alex Rodriguez might have been one of the most illustrious stars of baseball. However, the veteran Yankees was charged guilty of doping and using PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) for his games. When the MLB confirmed this revelation, he was issued a 162-match ban throughout the 2014 season.
In 2007, Alex Rodriguez, when being interviewed by 60 Minutes, said, “You shape your own Destiny.” While he did shape his destiny to churn out a significant MLB career, things never always ended as they were supposed to have.
In that interview, Rodriguez was ardent in his denial that he had not used any PED substance. However, two years later, in 2009, he admitted that he had lied. He was guilty of doping during his stint with the Texas Rangers from 2001-2003. He went unpunished for these deals until MLB started imposing penalties in 2014.

Doping is considered one of the most serious forms of cheating in sports. Rodriguez and the Biogenesis scandal had rocked the world entirely, with fans knowing their favorite player was none other than a cheat in the game.
Anthony Bosch, the owner of Biogenesis, has admitted that their company had administered drugs to Alex Rodrigue and later admitted that he was getting scared for his life. He said he had designed and administered an elaborate doping program for A-Rod, which started in 2010.
The owner of Biogenesis has also said to the “60 Minutes” show that A-Rod had paid him $12,000 a month to administer him an assortment of banned drugs, including testosterone and human growth hormone.
Rodriguez was initially banned for 211 games in 2013. However, based on a later appeal, his suspension was reduced by an arbitrator Fredric Horowitz to 162 games and all the playoff games in the 2014 season.
Alongside this, Bosch was once fined $5000 for practicing medicine illicitly without a license. His relationship with Rodriguez goes back in time and has helped him keep the effects of drugs at maximum while remaining clear in the eyes of the baseball authorities. This is why Alex Rodriguez would never fail a drug test during that period.
From this suspension, Rodriguez lost $25 million in salary. However, he still did receive $61 million from the Yankees in terms of dues and bonuses from three seasons. A-Rod has admitted that this phase of his career was one of the darkest and made him lose almost $40 million. Furthermore, given his illustrious career, he was denied a seat in the Hall of Fame. And for the future, his chance to become a Hall of Famer still looks pretty slim.
