One of the hardest tasks in life is saying goodbyes to your loved ones. Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez realized this when he had to drop off his 18-year-old daughter, Natasha Rodriguez, to college. He would later admit that this was the hardest thing he had done in his life. His ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis, has now revealed that he texts her ‘too much’ in college.
While the star known as A-Rod might have struggled with his personal life, he has been close with both of his daughters. He, along with Scurtis, has been co-parenting them since their divorce in 2008. The two recently reunited to celebrate Natasha’s 18th birthday and even enjoyed some family time during her graduation celebration.
According to reports from US Weekly, Scurtis has now said that she thinks A-Rod has got too emotional and is texting her (Natasha) too often. He recently also claimed that it was hard for him to come to terms with the fact that one of his girls will not be with him for dinner now.
Alex Rodriguez praises ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis and opens up on struggles regarding co-parenting
The life of Alex Rodriguez has been filled with a lot of controversies. Recently, he became the talk of the town again as reports emerged that he had snitched on other players who used PEDs. His numerous relationships have also affected his reputation, most popularly the high-profile break-up with Jennifer Lopez. He has ignored all of this and praised his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, for her co-parenting skills.
Scurtis and A-Rod got married in 2002. Their love story lasted only six years as Scurtis filed a divorce in 2008. Despite them going their separate ways in their life, they have often come together to co-parent their daughters. “I know how difficult it is. Break-ups are never easy. Co-parenting is never easy,” A-Rod was quoted by US Weekly. He further hailed Scurtis for doing an “incredible job” as a mom.
While A-Rod has accomplished a lot of things in his MLB career, he would highlight that raising his daughters with Scurtis was the proudest thing he has done. “I got to tell you, of anything that I’ve accomplished, my partnership with Cynthia and raising our two beautiful girls is the thing I’m by far the most proud of,” Rodriguez added.
Now that his elder daughter Natasha is off to college, A-Rod now has the time to spend with Ella, his youngest daughter. The 15-year-old is three years away from going to college, giving the former baseball star plenty of time to bond with her.
