The name Alex Rodriguez continues to attract people’s attention. The former MLB star has set the world on fire with his huge popularity and fan following. While his star continues to shine brighter, he has now shared a new hilarious story on a business scale. The 48-year-old now believes had he invested his money in local companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Starbucks before, he would not have had to work so hard.

Whether it’s his professional baseball career or business ventures, he has excelled on both fronts. However, according to him could have it a much easier way had he used his money correctly before. Being one of the top players, he was paid fairly handsomely for his efforts.

"When I was in Seattle, I started in 1993, I wish I would have just bought a bunch of the locals. If I bought Amazon, Microsoft, and Starbucks, I wouldn't have to work so hard today".

At the time of his signing, he was on a three-year $1.3 million contract with a $1 million bonus signing. The rates of both Microsoft and Starbucks were low, so probably a big missed opportunity for him.

Alex Rodriguez’s business ventures over the years

Alex Rodriguez might have missed out on the chance to invest and buy Amazon, Microsoft, and Starbucks back then, but he was determined to make it big in the business world. Safe to say he has done just that, while he currently boasts a net worth of $350 million. He now has several business ventures including something he started back in 1996.

He founded the A-Rod Corp, a company that started investments in technologies and other sectors in 2003. The former New York Yankees star currently serves as the CEO and Chairman of that. He also founded Newport Property Construction, a real-estate firm in 2008. However, his biggest investment is probably in the realm of sports. He is a part owner of NBA team Minnesota Timberwolves.

Right now he works as an analyst for Fox Sports and was spotted alongside Derek Jeter and David Ortiz while covering the postseason. A-Rod also has his own podcast along with long-time Yankee announcer Michael Kay, “The KayRod Cast“. All of these prove that he indeed would have made it big had he purchased the locals back then.

Given the money he currently owns, it would not be surprising to see him try and get more ventures under his control. For now, it seems his major focus will be on the Timberwolves as he hopes to win the NBA Championship with them before 2028.
