Over the last few years, the name Alex Rodriguez has dominated several headlines and has popped up a lot in internet searches. His huge success off the baseball field has played a huge part in his rise to superstardom. The Ex-New York Yankees star is now planning a massive $800 million merger of his Slam SPAC corporation with satellite comms provider Lynk Global.
His special acquisition company (SPAC), Slam Corp. announced this development on Monday night. The company has signed a letter of intent to merge with Lynk. As per the statement released, this company is expected to find its name listed on the tech-heavy Nasdaq stock index in the second half of 2024.
This news does not come as a surprise to many as A-Rod has time and again invested in the market. His business portfolio has increased significantly over the past few years. Apart from this one of his biggest assets is the A-Rod Corp and the NBA’s side Minnesota Timberwolves.
Speaking on this deal, Rodriguez claimed this deal was the “perfect fit” for their investment criteria.

MLB Network lists Alex Rodriguez as the number-one shortstop since 1947
In this legendary career, there is nothing much that Alex Rodriguez failed to achieve. A 14-time All-Star and one-time World Series winner, A-Rod had plenty of success on the field. He has now been named as the number one in MLB since 1947 by MLB Network.
The long history of MLB has seen several players leave their mark on the game. The position of shortstop has itself seen some marquee players doing magic tricks at this tricky position. He has now beaten out the likes of Derek Jeter, Cal Ripken. Jr, Ozzie Smith, and others for this.
The MLB Network in their tweet highlighted the career achievements of A-Rod. The former Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and New York Yankees man is one of the few players to have over 3,000 hits, 2,000 RBIs, Runs, and 600 home runs. While all this makes him one of the greats of the game, his past usage of Performance-enhancing Drugs (PEDs) has left a dark mark on his career.
Whether that dark spot on his career will go or not remains to be seen, the baseball writers have once again nominated his name for the MLB Hall of Fame. To reach Cooperstown, A-Rod will need at least 75 percent of the vote. His previous appearances failed to generate it. He would be hoping the third time’s the lucky charm for him as he waits for the announcement of this major decision.
