As the MLB players start reporting to the Spring training, there has been a major development from the Los Angeles Angels camp. Their third baseman, Anthony Rendon has dropped an explosive take regarding baseball.

Ever since signing with the Angeles, Rendon has had a hard time with his health with injuries have become a key part in it. Apart from this, some of his other actions on and off the field have made him one of the controversial figures of the game.

Speaking ahead of the Spring training games, the 33-year-old claimed that baseball had never been a top priority for him and that his family came first.

At the start of the year, Rendon had dropped another critical remark. In a conversation at the Jack Vita Show, he claimed he would like to “shorten” the season of MLB if he had the power to do.

This words from him came after he missed huge parts of 2023 season again with injuries. After signing a massive 7-year, $245 million contract with the Angels, Rendon is yet to play a total of 60 games in a season.

While one user pointed out his contract as one of the “worst” in sporting history, some said he might have a “vendetta” against the sport of baseball. Despite this, there are some who have also supported Rendon with this statement. The slugger meanwhile also added that he will take one game at a time next season and would be happy if he could survive one more day.

The Angels will begin their Spring training on 24th February when they take on their rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Their goal in 2024 under new management of Ron Washington is still the same: make it to the postseason after finishing the regular season on a positive note.
