The MLB 2023 season has been over. However, the excitement has not. The off-season trade has started as players have started to leave their clubs and join other teams. Another important thing was the naming of the Gold Glove Awards winners this year. Several players including New York Yankees rookie Anthony Volpe have now won this prestigious award for the first time in their career as he caps off an incredible debut season.

Given the season the Yankees had, the win of Volpe has surprised some of the Yankee fans as well. The New York side suffered a crushing season and finished fourth in the AL East division with an 82-80 record. In the season where nothing went right from the start, the rise of Volpe was one of the few positives from this season.

One player from every position from both the American and National League is awarded this. Anthony Volpe was the one who won the shortstop position in the American League. Another standout name in this list is Fernando Tatis Jr. The San Diego Padres man was suspended last year for the usage of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) and joined the team late in April. He has once again shown off his impressive skills as he grabbed some positives for his side in a disappointing campaign.

The attention of the fans now turns towards who will be named the MVPs of their respective leagues this year. The name of Shohei Ohtani has highly dominated this conversation and with the prolonged absence of Aaron Judge, the Japanese superstar may just sweep another individual accolade.
