The Atlanta Braves have been the pace-setters this season. The 2021 World Series winner are looking more dangerous season than their title-winning season. A major reason for this has been their scary offense this time out. On Sunday, with a win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Braves set another record as they became the first team to clinch their place in playoffs this year.

The 5-2 victory over the Pirates meant that the side was at least assured of a wild-card spot. Obviously, with the form they are in, the side is likely to finish with the best record in MLB this season and enter the Division Series as the top-seeded time. This was also the sixth straight season where they have booked their place in the knockout phases, their second-longest franchise streak.

Two of their star performers Ronald Acuna Jr. and Matt Olson once again delivered for the team as they rallied to a 5-2 win. While Acuna Jr. put the Braves ahead with a two-run single, Olson added another run in that same inning. The team now has a 15-game lead over second-place Philadelphia Phillies in the National League division.

The 2023 year of baseball has been a great one so far for the Atlanta Braves. After winning the league last season, they were stunned by the Philadelphia Phillies in the Divisions Series. This year they were once again expected to be engaged in a war with the New York Mets. However, the Mets have failed miserably this season, giving the chance to their rivals the chance to sweep the division.

The Braves have looked unstoppable at times this season. They have enjoyed victories over the two New York sides and the Los Angeles Dodgers with relative ease. While their offense has blown away every defense this season, their own defense has been hard to beat. Led by Cy Young award contender Spencer Strider, the rotation and bullpen of the Braves have made equal contributions. Twitter (now called X) was once again surprised by the Braves and shared some great reactions to their qualification. Check out some below.

Their next target is now the National League East division title. This would be their sixth straight league title, showing off their dominance in the NL East division. Their main focus though is to finish the season strongly and reach the World Series and battle for the biggest prize in MLB.

They will now take on the Phillies in their next two out of three series. A four-game series away In Philadelphia will be followed with a three-game showdown with the Marlins. After that, they will lock heads again with last season’s runners-up in a potential rehearsal for the postseason.
