As the final few weeks of the MLB season roll on, the teams are starting to make serious roster changes. Whether it’s promoting young guns to the squad for extra energy or welcoming some big names back, the week has seen it all. The Toronto Blue Jays on Friday reinstated star shortstop Bo Bichette from the injured list.
He had been out due to a quadriceps injury. This along with some knee issues meant Bichette had to spend some time on the unwanted IL. His return comes at a perfect time as the Blue Jays are firmly in contention for the playoff spots.
He had been training hard recently as seen in some videos to make a quick return. He would make his grand return in the first game of the series against the Kansas City Royals. Bichette made an instant impact as he made a diving stop to collect a line drive for the first out. However, the most impactful performance from him came off the bat.
The 25-year-old cashed in the first two runs of the game for his side. This proved valuable as the Blue Jays defeated the Royals 5-4. His manager John Schneider hailed him and said he was a huge addition to the team. “Huge addition at the top of the order. We all know what he can do,” his coach said after another incredible from the American international.

Over the period since 2021, Bo Bichette has emerged as an internal figure in the offensive lineup of the Toronto Blue Jays. In his last two seasons, he appeared in 159 games each while contributing significantly with his bat. He is once again becoming a key member of the squad and the fans and players are happy and excited to see him make a return.
Prior to his injury, Bichette played in over 114 games and hit 18 home runs while cashing in 62 RBIs along the way. After his performance against the Kansas City Royals, his batting average has risen to .315, the seventh-best in the league. Twitter (now called X) was happy to see him contribute in his first game back. One user would call him “The MVP of the team”. Check out some other reactions to his performances during his comeback.
His return comes at the right time for the Blue Jays. The victory over the Royals helped them establish a one-and-a-half-game lead over the Texas Rangers for the final wild-card spot. With the season entering its final stretch, the team will need every help they can get to extend their advantage and book their place in the knockout phase.
