Another day, another cinematic drama between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves. Following the stunning conclusion of Game 2, the Braves were seen pumped up. During the celebrations in the clubhouse, hitter Orlando Arcia was spotted making fun of Bryce Harper. The Phillies slugger answered back that dig at him in true Harper style.
The 30-year-old American first baseman has always been a fierce character on the field. He has shown several reactions while pouring down his emotions on the ground. Harper was not going to step back following these comments. Instead of talking off the field, he did it on the field. His two home runs propelled the Phillies to a commanding 10-2 lead.
As he has done so often for the Phillies, Harper came up clutch once again. His three-run home run in the third inning was part of a six-run inning that saw the hosts take control of the game. While rounding off the bases, he would have a staredown with Arcia.
This continued in the fifth inning as Harper launched his second home run of the game. Once again he coldly stared down at the Braves man. Check out the stare down from him from the tweet shared on X below:

When the comments of Orlando Arcia first surfaced, fans were shocked to hear that. Arcia thought his “atta-boy Harper” comments were probably never gonna leave the room. Unfortunately for him, that exact opposite happened as his comment got leaked. It also reached Bryce Harper. The Phillies man would hit two home runs and stare down his rival on both occasions. He later admitted that he did stare him down on purpose.
The first baseman recently became the center of attention when his fight with umpire Angel Hernandez went viral. Harper was unimpressed by the decisions of the 62-year-old Cuban official. So, it was likely that he would come back to Arcia at some stage.
“(My teammates) just kind of told me, and they looked at me, and they were like, ‘ What are you going to do?'” he said while recalling the incident. He added that when someone says something against them it works as a motivation for him and later claimed he enjoyed staring down at Arcia while saying, “Yeah I stared right at him.”
It also turned out to be a historic night for the Phillies as they matched the record for most home runs hit by a team in a postseason game. Their six home runs on the night proved to be a constant reminder of their offensive prowess which can turn any game on its head. They now have a stronghold on the series and another win would see them take on the Arizona D-Backs in the NLCS.
