The fascinating tale of Bryce Harper‘ career has another beautiful chapter. The Philadelphia Phillies slugger has been a fan favorite for a long time now. On Wednesday, he continued writing new stories of his legendary career as he hit his 300th career home run.

The record moment came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the Phillies 7-6 down, it seemed with two down, Harper seemed to have appeared as their savoir again. Interestingly, before this, he had failed to register a hit against LA Angels‘ relief pitcher Matty Moore. A drive into the right side of the field saw him pumping his fist as he circled around the bases.

The legendary moment from Harper had electrified the Citizens Bank Park. In doing so he became the 12th active player to reach the 300 home-run club. Unfortunately for him and the Phillies, they lost the game to the Angels 10-8 later on.

After the game, he spoke about how much he has appreciated the fans since his move from Washington Nationals. “I just love being a Phillie, plain and simple. It’s something I dreamed about. Just this fanbase, this city, I just love them, I really do,” the two-time NL MVP said.

Bryce Harper is one of MLB’s most characteristic figures. No matter the given situation, he has always tried to ignite the crowd with his flaming performances. The Phillies might have lost that game to the LA Angels, but the fans were not too angry. They were happily celebrating the historic moment of someone who is likely to be a Hall of Famer in the future.

Last week he left the fans amazed with his incredible speed by hitting an inside-the-park home run. Harper has now hit home runs in three consecutive games. With September on the horizon, the Phillies would hope he can continue this form as they push for a postseason spot.
