Clayton Kershaw was placed on the Los Angeles Dodgers’ injury list after his lower back pain issues, but the plan towards his return to the bullpen is set with respect to the details shared by Manager Dave Roberts. The 2014 National League MVP returned home to spend time in Texas with his family and to continue his rehab assignment before joining the team again on Friday.
Kershaw even passed Don Sutton for the Dodgers franchise strikeout record of 2,696 strikeouts in the 2022 season. In this season, Clayton Kershaw has had an earned runs average of 2.64 with 88 strikeouts in totality before being on the 15-day injury list.
Clayton Kershaw would definitely be working on himself another bullpen session before advancing to facing batters. The recent MRI did not show any injury which is the probable reason behind the Dodgers being optimistic regarding out his outlook for the remainder of the season.
Clayton Kershaw has started with his bullpen session at this stage and his recovery process is in line with the club’s expectations. “I think it’s sort of right on par with what we were hoping for initially,” Dave Roberts said.
Dave Roberts knows his pitcher Clayton Kershaw will make an entry to the diamond soon

“So, I think that right now, it’s been about two weeks since he hadn’t thrown. So, getting off the mound is a really good thing for us. Expecting him to come out of it well, then you’re looking at probably another BP, a simulated game and then potentially an activation.”
“To be asymptomatic, I think that we’re pretty happy where he’s at,” Roberts said Friday following Clayton Kershaw’s bullpen return. “I think that it’s easy to say that Clayton’s probably going to want to be on the more aggressive side, regardless. And I think the organization is probably more on the conservative side.
“So that’s why it speaks to just really trying to have as many conversations, so we can kind of find some common ground.” March 13, 2022, Kershaw signed a one-year deal worth $17 million to return to the Dodgers.
