Amidst NY Yankees pitcher Domingo German’s “perfect game” celebrations, fans on social media thrash the 30-year-old with cheating accusations. They don’t hold back as they label him as a “beater” recalling German’s dark past.
Some even called out the MLB to check his hands for sticky substance use, as the Yankees pitcher is no stranger to that. Just a few weeks ago, German was suspended for 10 games by the league for using foreign substances. Although the 30-year-old stated it was just “sweat and the rosin bag”.
German’s perfect pitch against the Oakland Athletics was recorded as the 24th in MLB’s long history and the 4th for the Yankees organization. He serially outed all A’s batters; all 27 of them. The Yankees rejoiced in their 11-0 record, especially after losing to the A’s just a few days back.

Although Domingo German’s historic performance is enough to bury his past controversies, fans were quick to point out his “beating” scandal. Many stated that they can’t accept a player who beats his wife and has past records of cheating in the game.
Some even questioned how the league is even celebrating German’s accomplishments. It was in 2019 when he was alleged in a domestic violence case. He was reportedly involved with his then-fiancee Mara Vega. It was reported that the NY Yankees pitcher slapped his fiancee at a charity event.
He was later suspended by the Major Baseball League for 81 games in January 2020. Even his teammates were not thrilled when he made his comeback the following year in February. His then-teammate Zack Britton stated that there’s no place in the game for him or even in off-field chances.
Following Domingo German’s 10-game suspension in May, he was also booed off the mound in a game against Boston Red Sox. German’s latest feat boosted the Yankees in the 2023 season ranking while also delivering a sign of him picking up his pace. While some fans refused to celebrate the event, many were happy to congratulate the pitcher.
German stated that his perfect game pitch was a tribute to his late uncle who passed away not too long ago. “Unfortunately, two days ago, an uncle of mine passed away and I cried a lot yesterday in the clubhouse, so I had him with me throughout the whole game“.
“…This game is a tribute to him.” “He would have been so happy”. “He was always somebody that really brought joy to our family, and it happened for him to watch this way from up there.” Fans will be closely monitoring his performance further or if any possible controversies pop up once again.
