It has been said and proved time and again that anything is possible in sports. While sometimes the underdogs pull off the greatest comeback, some big names stutter up. Even in baseball, these things have happened. However, in a game between Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels, a strange thing happened completely not related to sports. The game marked the return of “rally cat”.

In 2017, Yadier Molina launched a grand slam after a cat ran onto the field. Recently another animal outing was recorded at Yankee Stadium where a squirrel surprised the audience. This time a cat jumped on the fence to scare off two spectators. They though were not just two fans. One was the fiancee of D-Backs outfielder Dominic Fletcher, Emily Edwards, and wife of David Fletcher, Kierra Fletcher.

While judging by her reaction, Emily did not like the scenario. She freaked out at the sudden appearance of the feline creature. Though the video has now gone viral on social media and fans are having a fun time by looking at the scene. She was present at the stadium with Kierra as the match-up marked the first time the two brothers had faced each other in the major leagues.

While the Angels might have lost that game 6-2 despite another home run from Shohei Ohtani, the spotlight was on someone else. Yes, it was the cat. The reaction of Emily Edwards did make a few individuals laugh, others made fun of the Cat and showered it with love.

How did the animal enter the field and how did it reach the fans, nobody has any answers to it. Perhaps people are too busy in being love with the cat. Animals entering baseball fields have increased in recent years. Two years ago, a kitten entered the Bronx while the Yankees were playing against the Orioles. Here are some fun reactions from Twitter regarding the incident.

While everyone enjoyed this “unexpected development“, Emily Edwards will probably remember this moment for a long time. The Angels stadium might have recorded a cool moment but the team now needs to shift its attention from the cat. The team went on to lose the series to the D-Backs before dropping two more to the Padres. To make things worse, both of their star players Trout and Ohtani are injured. Perhaps this “cat” moment will be a key highlight of their season.
