Free agent Aaron Judge may find his fit with San Fransico Giants as they offer more stability both financially and location-wise to the 4-time All-Star winner. Giants President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi stated confidently, that no one including Judge will be out of their reach this free market season.
If the issue lies other than financial matters then there may be changes, otherwise, the Giants are stepping into the water with their pockets full of financial support. Apart from other free agents, Judge is the most coveted one. Especially after he marked the 62-home run record this year.
Judge came into the market this week. Not only Giants, but other Major League Baseball teams have also kept their eyes and ears wide open. Randy Miller of NJ.com stated that the Giants are “prepared to spend whatever it takes” to sign up the Yankees’ star player.
Miller also said that Judge’s pursuit may turn into “a bidding war that figures to surpass $300 million” with the Los Angeles Dodgers expected to be involved and Yankees general manager Brian Cashman saying the plan is to make him an offer far above the seven-year, $213.5 million one he turned down in April.”

Another person familiar with the Giants‘ contract working patterns, stated, “Judge is at the top of the Giants list and they won’t be underbid”. “If they miss out, it won’t be because of money.” Furthermore, the Giants have the upper hand location wise too. It’ll be a short drive from there came to Judge’s hometown, compared to previous locations.
Even Zaidi noted during the 2022 GM meeting in Las Vegas, that if the team couldn’t land Judge, then the reason won’t be money at least. The team has a good quantity of financial elasticity considering less than $83 million guaranteed salaries for the 2023 season till now. They have plenty of holes to fill, but this season the Giants are ready to make a ‘giant’ splash.
During the first 7 seasons with the Yankees, Judge has scored 220 homers while posting a .977 OPS with the team. Though his health did create a black mark on his otherwise fabulous career, the Giants are not fretting over it at all. Even at the age of 30, he is blasting balls with even more precision.
