“Unconvincing and possibly offensive”: Harry Caray to be reanimated in hologram form, Twitter turns anxious
Harry Caray
Harry Caray was a legend when it comes to American radio and television sports casters, he died at the age of 83 (March 1, 1914 – February 18, 1998). Harry Caray called play-by-play for 5 different teams over the course of his incredibly broadcasting career, St. Louis Cardinals (1945–1969), St. Louis Browns (1945–1946), Oakland Athletics (1970), Chicago White Sox (1971–1981), Chicago Cubs (1982–1997).
Fox Network is now trying to add an extra dose of nostalgia to its Field of Dreams telecast on Thursday, they have decided upon adding a hologram of legendary Harry Caray signing ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ during the seventh inning stretch.
It was not really taken well by the twitter MLB fans, calling it out as the most befouled idea. Harry Caray is believed to have popularized the singing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the seventh-inning stretch.
Mr. Caray went on to become famous for singing the tune, continuing to do so at Wrigley Field after becoming the broadcaster of the Chicago Cubs, using a hand-held microphone and holding it out outside the booth window.

“All right, let me hear you,” the hologram said. “Been a while. A one, a two, a three…” The Caray hologram then performed the song in unison with the crown in attendance for the game between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs.
The Field of Dreams game was also made for a star-studded pregame ceremony at the Field of Dreams that included five Hall of Famers from the Cubs: Billy Williams, Andre Dawson, Fergie Jenkins, Ryne Sandberg and Lee Smith; and three from the Reds: Johnny Bench, Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Larkin.
Timothy Burke tweeted, “A man hears Fox is testing a reanimated Harry Caray in hologram form for tomorrow’s Field of Dreams game? Someone who has seen the footage says it is “unconvincing” and “possibly offensive””
On the other hand, Michael Baumann said, “There’s a whole leg of Twitter freaking out about the former president possibly having stolen nuclear secrets and I don’t know how they can concentrate on such frivolities when Hologram Harry Caray is on the loose.”
