“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”- Jarren Duran agitated as fans throw bottle caps

Jarren Duran, a centerfielder for the Boston Red Sox, has had better days than what he went through on Sunday at Kauffman Stadium during the series finale against the Kansas City Royals. The youngster had a somewhat quiet day at the plate and throughout the game he made a number of noticeable fielding errors. However, the Red Sox were trailing when the ugly incident occurred. The broadcast was a little awkward because it showed Duran being dragged back by Alex Verdugo and appearing to argue with fans.

Jarren Duran’s awful, terrible day in Kansas City is highlighted in this video, which concludes with a potential fight and Duran being restrained. When Duran was questioned about the incident following the game, he offered an explanation for why he became so enraged at the Royals supporters seated in the outfield. The Red Sox outfielder stated that bottlecaps were thrown at him by the crowd, which caused him to react violently and require Verdugo to restrain him and remove him from the situation.

Is Jarren Duran to be blamed for acting unprofessional?

It would be simple to tell Jarren Duran to act professionally and maintain his calm, but if that’s what was happening at Kauffman Stadium, the center fielder has every right to be upset. Even though it was only bottle caps, that is absolutely improper fan behavior and could even be deadly.

However, even if there was a reason for Duran’s rant, the majority of Red Sox supporters don’t care about it; they simply want him to play better baseball. His defence may be even worse as his bat, which has been ice cold. And it won’t do for a squad that still has a slim chance of making the playoffs.
