“15 F**king years”- Joey Votto completes 15 years of MLB on the 4th of Sept 2022
Joey Votto
Joey Votto the standout first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds made his Major League Baseball debut 15 years ago on Sunday after being selected out of high school in 2002. The Reds’ second-round draught pick made his major league debut on September 4, 2007, after beginning his baseball career with the affiliated Dayton Dragons.
Joey Votto played in 171 games for Dayton over the 2003 and 2004 seasons, batting.302 with 14 home runs in 111 contests. He is now included in the top 20 dragons. After being placed on the COVID-19 injury list back in May, Votto returned to Dayton this year.
It was only right that he would hit a tiebreaking home run to seal the victory since his first game back was in his hometown against the Toronto Blue Jays. Given that it was also Votto’s first home run of the season, Jim Day of Bally Sports asked Votto how much his tie-breaking home run meant to him.

Joey Votto was raised in a “Field of Dreams”
Joey Votto claimed to have grown up watching “Field of Dreams”; he was just under 6 at the time of the film’s theatrical release. He claims that the movie’s central theme—a catch with a parent—meant a lot to him, particularly following the death of his father in 2008.
In his tweet, Votto said, “it is impossible for me not to feel an emotional connection to the moment where ray asks his father for a catch. One more moment together.”
Since making his MLB debut, the six-time National League All-Star, Gold Glove, Lou Gehrig Award, and prior NL MVP winner has certainly established a name for himself. Votto’s season was cut short after he had surgery to repair a rotator cuff tear in his left shoulder, but he is still able to contribute to the team even though he is not on the field.
