The legend of Jose Altuve continues to expand. Recently he became just the third Houston Astros player to record 2,000 hits. Despite the negativity that surrounds him for the 2017 sign-stealing scandal, he has continued to smash home runs even after that. He recorded a two-run night during the series opener against the Texas Rangers. The third baseman would follow this up with an extraordinary three-home run game on Tuesday.
The series against their rivals comes at a crucial time. The Rangers have started to crumble a little bit and have seen their lead at the top slip away. They would suffer a crushing 13-6 defeat with Altuve being the star man. The 33-year-once again stole the show as the team hammered their opponents.
Altuve would start the game by blasting off home runs against Nathan Eovaldi in his first two at-bats. As the 2022 World Series champions began to run away with the game, the pitcher was replaced. This was done in the hope of stopping the Astros train. Unfortunately for the Rangers, the carnage would not stop there.
Altuve would later etch his name in history books as he slammed a home run pitcher Dane Dunning. This was his third home run of the day. While players have hit three home runs in a game, only three players before had hit a home run in the first three innings of the game. This also turned out to be his fourth consecutive home run (counting the one he hit on Monday) as his bat continued to breathe fire.

Jose Altuve has been one of the most disliked personalities in MLB. Most of this is because of this involvement along with others during the infamous sign stealing scandals in their maiden title win in 2017 and then in 2018. Even after all these years, fans have labeled him as a ‘cheater’ and discredited his achievements.
However, what he did on Tuesday night even left some of his biggest haters stunned. The Astros fanbase was on cloud nine as not only was he back to form, but the team was cruising away to another big win against their rivals. One user would write. In the end, the Astros would deal the Rangers another significant blow. Their 14-1 win on Tuesday saw them take the solo lead for the AL West in a long time. As the season moves on with rapid speed towards the end, this is probably the best time for Altuve and Astros to come back in form. This victory also laid out a statement that the champions were in no mood to surrender their crown without mustering any fight.
