After weeks and months of speculation, renowned MLB star Justin Turner, finally made a decision regarding his future. The 39-year-old free agent is going north of the US border and joining the Toronto Blue Jays on a one-year deal.
This comes after this topic took speed in the past few days. Reports had emerged that Turner was drawing significant interest from the Blue Jays and could make his decision this week. The talks have now turned true as the former Los Angeles Dodgers star inked a one-year contract.
Turner has now joined the Toronto-based outfit on a $13 million deal. Multiple reports suggest that he could make an additional $1.5 million on performance based bonuses.
Last season, Turner once again displayed his offensive capabilities. While appearing for the Boston Red Sox, he slammed 23 home runs and reached a career high 96 RBIs while batting with an average of .276.
Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins has hailed the qualities of Turner and called the two-time All-Star an “exemplary leader” in the clubhouse.

Despite his age, Justin Turner was one of the most sought out free agent in the MLB market. His experience of playing on the highest level made him one of the players to look out for.
Several big market teams had been trying to land his signature and get him on board. In the end, the veteran slugger picked Toronto as his next destination.
As the Blue Jays celebrate the arrival of Turner, there is mixed reactions from the fans. While some have congratulated him for this move and wished him well, some have questioned his capabilities going forward given his age.
