At the Phillies versus Astros game, a one-sided victory, and an insanely dramatic Mattress Mack‘s exit deserve to be the focal point in Game 3 of Citizens Bank Park of the Fall Classic series. Nothing could have made the chills stop for Mack rather than the victory for the Astros.
Who is Mattress Mack after all? A furniture store owner and an infamous baseball fan who placed wagers worth $10 million on the Astros victory in the Fall Classic series. Mack would earn a fortune if the series is ruled by the Astros. Just to put it in perspective, Mack’s payout of $75 million will be the largest ever recorded payment in legal betting history.
However, with Game 3 turning out to be a 7-0 victory for the Phillies, the match was a rollercoaster for the gambler who witnessed his own fall waiting in the audience and cheering alone for the Astros against the Phillies’ fans who shouted in an encore. He rushed out in a jiffy with a frustrated expression on his face.
Mattress Mack has 45.4 percent winning probability on his $75 million payout
The Phillies have made a stunning game start with a 2-1 lead with now a probability of Houston Astros close to 45 percent of gaining victories. Well, the Houston Astros were more probable to win before the game started, which clearly explains why Jim ‘Mattress Mack’ McIngvale placed his money on them.
Well, he was allegedly heckled by a few Phillies fans as he rushed out in frustration outside the stadium. A ticktock video went viral over the internet gaining traction over the Houston versus Phillies competition. When asked, Mack accepted that he wasn’t averse to the risk and talked about Astros with great enthusiasm.
Mattress Mack shouted at the drunk Philly fan, “F**k you, F**k you, You A**hole, F**k up!!”
“The excitement is very real in Houston. The entire town is fired up about the Astros,” spoke among the reporters. “Winning the bet is important but what’s more important is giving money back to our customers who bought around $75 million worth of furniture,” said McIngvale. Mack also told that his wife frets way more than him and that his love for baseball and the unity it brings is immense.
