I have young kids, and now it’s time to be a dad, first and foremost... It’s time for me to be home 24/7, watch my kids grow up, and not miss important milestones.

The veteran outfielder retires from the game after appearing for just two teams. While he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008, he was unable to make the first team and was traded away to the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians).

Brantley would go on to spend 10 seasons in Cleveland and became an internal member of the squad. He was a part of the Indians’ 2016 World Series squad that fell just short of the hurdle and played some important part in the postseason runs. He would later join the Astros where he once again thrived.
