The life of former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has taken a huge hit in the past two years. After being accused of sexual assault and abuse, the southpaw was suspended by the MLB for 324 games. The ban was reduced to 194 games. Following his recent shocking revelations regarding his accuser, Mookie Betts has come into his support and hoped MLB teams would sign him this offseason.

Due to the suspension imposed on him by the league, Bauer had to consider other options. The former Cy Young Award winner would fly out to Japan and sign for the Yokohama Baystars. With the case against his accuser settled, Betts hopes this could pave the way for his return to the Major League.

Betts was invited by the league to provide content for their channels for Game 3 of the World Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers. When asked about the former Dodgers pitcher, the hitter labeled him an “awesome pitcher” and “great guy“.

My experience with Bauer is nothing remotely close to what everyone else's experience is. I love him. I think he is an awesome guy... But, at the end of the day, I don't make the decision.

Will Trevor Bauer be ever allowed to pitch again in MLB?

After his suspension and then signing in Japan, it seemed many had forgotten about Trevor Bauer. However, his name is making the headlines again. After these bold words of encouraging support by Mookie Betts, one daring question arises: Will Trevor Bauer ever be allowed to pitch in the MLB?

Bauer last played in the MLB in June 2021. Following these grievous charges, he was handed a long suspension. While it was reduced to 194 and was reinstated in the team. The LA Dodgers, though, released him after that. Since then, no team has approached him. With the season about to end, Bauer could technically be available for suitors in 2024.

If a team does take the step and sign him, there is likely going to be some action from the fans. While some have supported him during this time, some are against him and want him nowhere near the league.

Speaking of his performance in Japan, Bauer finished with a 10-4 record and was one of the leading pitchers of the year. His ERA and strikeout stats read 2.75 and 128, respectively. Despite all this, with the current scenario in the league, it is less likely to see him pitch in the MLB next season.
