“Let’s go NY baby”: New York Yankees shut Boston with a bang, hit 3 grand slams in 2 games

The New York Yankees hammered the Boston Red Sox 6-5 at Fenway Park. This was the New York Yankees’ second straight win after losing two in a row. Their bats indeed were singing last night as it was Josh Donaldson who hit a grand slam and Aaron Hicks provided a solo-homer. They now hold their best-in-baseball record to 60-23.
The New York Yankees have knocked the Boston Red Sox (45-38) back to third place in the American League East behind the Rays, who the Yankees lead by 14.5 games. Had Boston’s lineup not contained Devers, Cole and the New York Yankees might have breezed towards victory.
Perhaps not to the level of their 16-0 rout of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, which featured grand slams from Aaron Judge and Aaron Hicks. It is the first time the Yankees have hit grand slams in back-to-back games since June 30 and July 1, 2017, at Houston.
They are just the third team in the last 20 years to blast three grand slams in two sequent games, joining themselves in 2011 and the Mets in 2006.
Donaldson and Hicks carry the New York Yankees right past Boston in their 2nd consecutive win

Josh Donaldson, third baseman for the New York Yankees, has not had a very good season as far as his MVP-caliber is concerned, after last night’s slam, he said, “It was a great, great atmosphere, this is what baseball is about right here; two really good teams going against each other, playing hard. I’m glad for us that we were able to win today.”
Aaron Boone was more than excited with his team’s magnificent performance, he stated in the post-match press conference, “You kind of feel a little cooler weather — it felt like a warm September or October night, we haven’t been back here in a while, and to come in here with [the Red Sox] playing better, it’s always fun.”
With Aaron Judge sitting out with a tight calf issue and Anthony Rizzo missing his third straight game with back spasms, Donaldson and Hicks had to carry the New York Yankees. It was the second straight game the Bombers had back-to-back homers with Donaldson and Gallo going sequent against the Pirates.
