“This team is depressing” – MLB Twitter INFURIATED as NY Yankees drop another game against rivals Mets in Subway series
After sweeping the Kansas City Royals, the NY Yankees lost another game at the hands of their arch rivals Mets. The host conceded nine runs in their subway series loss.

On Tuesday, the New York Yankees lost again. The most successful MLB team continues to slip down as their poor form continues. This time they lost against rivals, the New York Mets 9-3 in the Subway series. The Mets who themselves are having a poor season, got the better of their arch-nemesis as the battle for supremacy in NY carries on.
Pitcher Justin Verlander and slugger Pete Alonso lead the charge this time. The veteran ace turned back the clock and brought out his best game. Meanwhile, Alonso homered twice to hand the Mets a deserved victory. For the Yankees, things just got worse as Domingo German was taken back by the hitters. The most recent player to throw a perfect game gave up six runs through seven hits.
The game also saw some poor fielding displays from the Yankees. Despite this loss, they are statically better than the Mets. The Yankees are 53-48 compared to their NY counterparts who are 47-53. At this rate, both NY sides will fail to make it through the postseason if things do not improve quickly for them. There have also been reports from both teams that some players could be sold as the deadline date approaches near.

Twitter reacts as NY Yankees continue to struggle for consistency
Things just keep going from bad to worse for the NY Yankees. After getting swept by the LA Angels for the first time since 2009, they themselves recorded a sweep. The NY side brushed aside the Kansas City Royals. While the Royals are one of the worst teams in MLB this season, the Yankees did manage to get some sort of momentum and confidence on their side.
All of this quickly went up in smoke as Domingo German struggled from the mound. The pitcher is 0-2 in his last four starts since his perfect game. He did strike out nine batters in six innings, but the damage was already done by then. Twitter was once again full of trolls and slammed the Yankees for another poor all-around display. Recently Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez predicted the absence of Aaron Judge would cost them. While it was certain it would struggle offensively, no one what have thought of this outcome. The Yankees captain still has no update regarding his return. Their fans would just be hoping that by the time he returns, the team is still in contention for the knockout stages.
